Decisions, Decisions...

This past weekend I was in Boston, a city I’ve been in many times. Boston is beautiful; it reminds me of several European cities...Whenever I visit, I always find something new and now with Panache, I make it a habit to look harder.

Walking down Charles Street, I noticed the colors of some clutches that were in the window of the boutique and I had to enter immediately. Holiday is a must-stop-shop if you're ever in Boston. Upon entering I found the interior to be the same as a doll's house: pink walls, shabby chic furniture, and an explosion of color in clothing and accessories. You'll find unique clothing of young American designers at reasonable prices (the silk shorts shown in the photo were my purchase of the day).

El pasado fin de semana estuve en Boston. Mira que he estado veces... Que ciudad más bonita, me recuerda a las ciudades europeas...

El caso es que siempre descubro algo nuevo y ahora con el blog, lo busco con más razón. Paseando por la calle Charles me fijé en los clutches de colores que tenían en el escaparate de esta boutique y tuve que entrar.Se llama Holiday y es parada obligatoria si alguna vez pasas por Boston. Al entrar me pareció estar en una casa de muñecas: paredes rosa claro, muebles shabby chic junto a una explosión de color en las prendas y accesorios. Encontrarás piezas únicas de jóvenes diseñadores americanos a precios moderados (el short de seda que llevo en la foto fue mi adquisición del día).

Fashion has finally found its way to the professional office setting. Look for neutral color pieces that combine unexpected details and shapes: the drape of the tops, the trim on the blazer or the golden buttons of the pants. Feel free to add a colored or printed belt to add personality and panache to the ensemble.For a more feminine and sexy shape cinched the top at the waist to control the flowiness. Change the standard blazer for a Chanel inspired jacket, it´s a less common shape but it still considered a classic.

P.S.: Wear your tops with jeans for the weekend and mix your bottoms with casual t-shirts and shoes to get the most out of your closet and your money!

Respuesta: Alyssa, antes que nada muchas gracias por elegirnos para dar un giro a tu look laboral! Di adiós a tus viejos trajes de chaqueta y prepárate para mezclar piezas sueltas que incluso podrás utilizar el fin de semana. Hay que amortizarlos! Busca prendas de colores neutros como el beige, el gris y el verde militar pero con detalles y siluetas originales: tops de telas delicadas con una caída especial o irregulares, chaquetas con bordes de piel, pantalones con botones dorados a la altura del tobillo...Dale el toque personal con cinturones de colores o estampado animal y utilízalos para marcar la cintura y equilibrar la caída del top. Cambia la típica blazer por una chaqueta estilo chanel. Están menos vistas y son igualmente un clásico.

P.D:  Mezcla los tops con vaqueros y las partes de abajo con camisetas de algodón y sácales el máximo partido!

We hear all the time how high heels represent sexiness - how they add pizzaz to your outfit. It seems lately designers believe the higher the heel, the better the look. We now live in a world where 5 inches is the norm. But for those of us that live in an urban city, running through street puddles to catch the bus is our norm; and although wearing super high heels might make our outfit look super chic and sexy, sometimes the day ahead is a busy one or our feet are just too tired to bear the burden. Now I am aware this isn't the case for all women out there. Some women consider a 5 inch heel for their running shoes...like my partner in crime Diana. To the brave out there, your sacrifice is to be commended. But for the rest us or high heel impaired like me, I have a secret that will give you legs a mile long without a sacrifice in comfort. It's a nude flat! Say what?!? The nude flat is a miracle worker. Not only do they add length to your legs, they also go with EVERYTHING in your closet. Literally everything, so invest in a good pair because they will be worn A LOT.

Siempre estamos oyendo cómo los tacones añaden el toque sexy y la garra a todos nuestros  looks. Además, parece que últimamente los diseñadores  se han puesto de acuerdo en que cuanto más alto el tacón, mejor. Vivimos en un mundo en el que la norma no baja de casi los 13 centímetros. Pero para aquellas que vivimos en una gran ciudad en la que la nieve y la lluvia son el pan nuestro de cada día, ir saltando de charco en charco para llegar al autobús es nuestra norma; y a pesar de que ir subida a unos inmensos tacones sea chic y sexy, la mayoría de las veces tenemos un día duro por delante o simplemente nuestros pies están ya cansados de hacer el sacrificio. Me consta, que este no es el caso de muchas mujeres. Algunas equiparan los 13 centímetros de tacón diarios a una zapatilla de correr…sin ir más lejos, mi compinche Diana. A las valientes, les elogio el sacrificio. Pero para el resto o las imposibilitadas de los tacones como yo, les doy el secreto para añadir kilómetros a sus piernas sin sacrificar la comodidad. Las bailarinas color maquillaje! Cómo? Como lo oyes, son milagrosas. No sólo alargan visualmente tus piernas sino que además van con todo lo que tengas en el armario. Invierte en un buen par porque las va a llevar sin parar.

Esto más que una tendencia para mí es ya un clásico. Hace años que llevo la muñeca izquierda cargadita de pulseras todos los días, todas las estaciones y en todo momento.Por eso llevo un reloj gigante en la derecha,vamos, cuestión de equilibrio. Me gusta comprarlas en los viajes que hago y si no, que sean regaladas así que todas tienen un significado y me recuerdan a alguien. No te olvides del anillo grande en la otra mano!

Bracelets are more than a trend piece for me, they are a classic. I´ve worn a massive assortment of pieces for years, every day and night, season and moment. I add a big masculine watch to the opposite wrist....helps me stay balanced. Along with adding a pop to my outfit, each bracelet also holds a special meaning to me (most of them have been purchased on trips or were received as gifts). P.S. Don´t forget to add a statement ring!
